Magellan Maestro Elite 4370 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator

Elite pretty much says it all for the Magellan Maestro Elite 4370. Compared to other GPS systems on the market, this unit is priced much higher. It does have some high end features, but the basic GPS unit is pretty much the same as all the others that can be purchased for a lot less.

Like all comparable GPS units, the Elite 4370 has a 4.3 touchscreen, around six million points of interest, and hundreds of preloaded maps. The GPS is going to be able to get a driver from point A to point B which is the basic reason the systems were developed in the first place.

Other featuresof the Magellan Maestro Elite 4370 which don't really contribute to what a GPS is all about include 3D landmarks which might be fun, but not really necessary; an MP3 player; a video player and an FM transmitter.

Although most of these items might be nice when using the Elite 4370 in pedestrian mode, anyone who is going to use the unit for driving will probably find them to be unnecessary extras that just add to the cost of the GPS.

Actual Customer Feedback:

"far-and-away best features are the POI's. I don't want to push
buttons, I'm driving, I just want it to show me what's nearby. The Exit POI's are even cooler. Again, without pushing a button, I can see if the next exit has gas, food, lodging and/or car repair/towing services."

"Pros: display is crisp and clear, AAA points of interest, portability, very easy to understand how to program and use.

Cons: no chime indicating need to turn, does not tell you if your destination is on the left or right, very sluggish in finding signal and recalculating and screen is super slow to accept commands (you have to push several times in many cases"
