Garmin Nuvi 260 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator
The Garmin company has made the decision to start phasing out the Nuvi 260 in favor of the 265T. They say that the 265T has more features and yet is less expensive than the older Nuvi 260.
However, with the introduction of the Nuvi 265T, the prices have fallen dramatically on the 260 making it one of the best values in GPS technology that is available today. In addition, the maps and accessories will still be available for the 260, so if you’re looking for a real value, this unit may still be what you want.
The 260 only has a 3.5” screen, so if you’re interested in one of the newer, larger screens, this won’t be a good model for you to choose. Although the 265T doesn’t have a 4.3” screen, it does have several features not present on the 260. These include Bluetooth, integrated FM receiver with lifetime traffic, 3D terrain maps, and photo navigation.
The price of the 265T runs about $60 more than the 260, so if you don’t really need these extra features offered by the newer model, you may not want to pay more to get them.
Garmin has also added the ability for customers to add custom points of interest (POI’s) from third parties such as school zones and safety cameras.
